What is Raku?

Raku is a modern, expressive, general purpose programming language.

Originally developed under the name Perl 6, Raku has evolved into an independent language with its own name, compiler implementations, community, and ecosystem.

Raku provides a broad collection of programming tools, including gradual typing, multiple dispatch, powerful regular expressions and grammars, Unicode support by default, concurrency, object-oriented programming, and functional programming features.

Many of the projects discussed in Raku Ramblings, including Checkwriter, are written in Raku.

A Brief Introduction to Raku

For readers who are unfamiliar with the language, I maintain a short slide show introducing the language along with Linux.
